Unexpected
Picture a relaxing soak in a hot bath after a busy day of chores. Close your eyes and sink into a place where the outside world does not intrude. Bliss.
Then imagine feeling a multitude of uniform and sharp things poking your exposed tummy.
Without opening your eyes many images run through an over imaginative mind. In an instant try to sit up and GET IT OFF!!! To find your silly husband trying to catch your beloved pet hamster as it jumps back in the water where you inadvertently tossed it, as it attempts to evade his hands and get out of the water. Sit up splashing and yell "you're killing her". To which your husband responds "I was a life guard, I won't let her drown". As he still hadn't caught her. Ah, scooped her up.
This took mere seconds but will be etched in my brain for some time. Dear husband toweled her off, tried to mop up the drenched floor and take photos of the poor hamster all in the relative same time frame. None were done well. Matilda looked much like a drowned rat but with a few dry spots. The floor slants away from the tub so water had traveled out into the hallway getting a library book and my PJ's in the process. The photos are mostly blurry.
From the tub, I shouted for him to use the hair dryer. It kinda worked. She is a bit fluffier. Matilda got cheese and green leafy stuff as a treat.
Robert did laugh a bit. I am tired so it is an early night as I catch an 8AM train in the morning.
