Finally Quit

After many late pay cheques, last minute schedule changes and too much to do in too little time. I have finally given notice. It was much easier to do than I thought.

In my head the scenarios of the confrontation were much more stressful than the real conversation. Which took a total of 2 minutes. I feel great about it and will be getting more hours at the Lingerie shop. Though will be making significantly less as now it will be 15-20 hours a week opposed to 35-45.

I stayed up till 3:30 am last night so as a consequence this morning I was rather grumpy and a bit late leaving for work. As I trudged to the bus stop, my inner voice was bitching and complaining about the weather, being late and everything in general. I passed a woman who looked familiar from living in Nelson. This woman had a rough life to my knowledge. She had at least 3 children, 2 of whom lived with their fathers or grandparents. I tried to avoid her as I was grumpy, did not want to talk and as late for work. No such luck, before the bus came she walked back, recognized me and gave me a hug. She introduced her 3 year old daughter, Rythym, who was adorable. She had been pregnant when I saw her last 5 years ago. So this makes 5 kids. When I asked about it she replied " I am just a fertile person". We chatted a bit about weather, then her cell rang and she wandered off chatting away.

That encounter made me smile and cherish my little dull life. I was only 5 minutes late for work. The day went by quickly as I was busy with customers the whole time and did a lot of big sales. One lady even inquired about custom night gowns.

I could keep the job that pays the bills, when on time and is soul sucking or I can take a risk and do creatively full filling work.
